With all the challenges we face, today I choose to share a comedic video to make you laugh. Joy and laughter is a rebellious act against systemic oppression and COVID 19.
I began writing this poem "a message to white supremacy" after I saw the video assassination of Ahmaud Arbery. Then soon after I was enraged and re-traumatized by another murder of black bodies, George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, in the hands of law enforcement. I thought of all the atrocities that have been inflicted on black and brown bodies, my ancestors and I. Creating art is my liberation to heal and combat systemic racism and oppression in America. Liberators make your voice heard and be not afraid. The disease of white supremacy must be eradicated for ALL to strive towards true harmony.
"Quirky Moments in Quarantine". My wife and I put this video together while in the "NY State of Pause". Enjoy.
An excerpt of my solo play I'm developing called Where You From? What You be About? an autobiographical story exploring poverty, gangs, and the journey towards positive transformation.
I thought I lost this footage but was happy to have found it. Check out this satirical street theatre that took place in Chicago! This was all improv and not staged! All the participants were protestors and clients affected by the closing of 6 out of 12 free mental health clinics in Chicago. Mayor Rahm Emanuel has to go!
Thanks to Ñ DONT STOP for reporting our Protest Street Theatre! We were compelled to do something artistic and yet protest against corporate Vulture Hedge Funds on Wall Street. Puerto Ricans and those in solidarity with our struggle must unite and fight against the PROMESA HR4900 bill in Congress. #vulturefunds #promesabill#freepuertorico #streettheatre #puertoricanartists #boricuasunite
Inspired by Chicago's Mayor Rahm Emanuel's pompous attitude. Don't Re-elect the 1% Mayor!
